Honey, go mow the water

That we have to hire people and machinery to mow the canal is another good reason to support drainage swales¬†and basins, stormwater catchment ponds, permeable pavements, and other measures to stop the rapid runoff of rainwater into our waterways. I think there is a lot more we could do to reduce¬†the run off rate, starting with the excess of paved parking lots and excessively wide streets the city insists we need to provide “free” parking to motorists.
