Mouse Hole for Posties

There is always something attractive about the sterotypical mouse hole in the wall. Little arch, small scale, friendly mouse.

Then there is this house, where the wood panel separating two front porches was jigsawed out to make this very large mousehole for the posties.

Note the modern porch railing above the limestone foundation and brick pillars. Every seventh row of brick is turned on end, suggesting this house has a solid brick exterior, ie two or more layers of brick, not a veneer over wood.
